Alexander Paul Blake, creative force behind the band EDEN WEINT IM GRAB, releases his first solo album 'Die Ruckkehr ins Goldene Zeitalter' ('The Return to the Golden Age') and walks into a black metallic parallel existence ...
The tracks combine infernal furiousness and majestic moments with quiet, idyllic acoustic parts, which give the album a folkloristic note. Alexander Paul Blake names bands like early ULVER, AGALLOCH or EMPEROR as influences.
Blake tried to capture the magic of the moment instead of getting lost in perfectionistic attention to detail. Thus the sound is rather rough and primitive, but at the same time very atmospheric and wide.
The lyrics are inspired by the spirit of romanticism, the poetry of Georg Trakl and Henry David Thoreau's novel 'Walden'.
Reality and fantasy are melting and likewise are time and room – to a certain degree this takes up the idea of a golden age, which the romanticists tried to reach 200 years ago by transcending the everyday life, banal things and the material world into something higher.
Also 'Die Ruckkehr ins Goldene Zeitalter' gives the listener a chance to escape from his routine into the depths of the self.
